Night of Lies is run by volunteers, and we need your help!
This year we need a total of 12-14 people to help out on the night of. You’ll all be assigned a role, and everyone will get some dinner before the evening begins. Here’s the breakdown of the roles, and timelines:
Setup from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
4 people to set up the tables and chairs, put up banners, put out the prizes, raffle items, etc.
2 people to do computer / av / sound / projector / etc. setup during this same time
Once the evening starts, we’ll need a few more bodies from 6:15 p.m. to the end, around midnight. But come for 5:30 p.m. to grab some dinner and for a volunteer orientation meeting!
2 people checking tickets at the door (sitting behind the table by the entrance)
1 person to mind the computer and deal with the slideshows, etc. (must be familiar with Macs, powerpoint, pages, etc.)
1 person to act as a/v tech should we need it
2-4 people to mind the silent auction, explain the process, etc. (so be somewhere near the auction tables)
4 people to do raffle ticket sales (wandering the floor, especially during the breaks!)
2 people to do pizza sales during the first break (timing to be decided)
On top of all this, there will of course be myself running around, taking photos (we have no images of the night!!), gathering presenters, etc.
What do you get for volunteering?
Of course, you get lots of bonus karma points. Free entry to the event, obviously. We’ll also order in some food for 5:30-6:30 p.m. You’ll also get two free beer tickets to use over the course of the evening, and if we have enough swag, you’ll get some swag.
